There are so many great places for fishing in northern Dalarna that it would
take a life time to mention all of them. How ever, here are a few of our
favourites:
Fuluälven
South of Särna, next to Nordic Footprints.
A small river that is sometime slow flowing and sometimes wild. The river is
easy to wade on most places and is periodically great for trout fishing
and often good for grayling.
Öjsjön
South of Särna, 2 km east of Nordic Footprints.
A big lake where you can fish for nice pike and perch, if you are lucky you can
also catch lake trout. There are several islands in the lake which are
accessible with boat.
Ljörälven
Runs from Norway, approx. 16 km south of Nordic Footprints.
Nice and calm river for grayling and trout. It is possible to fish on
both the Swedish and Norwegian side of the river.
Storån
North of Idre, approx. 1 hour from Nordic Footprints.
A stream with very good trout fishing. From Särsjön down to Hällsjön it
is only allowed with fly fishing. There are paths and wind shelters all along
the stream, everything to make the fishing as enjoyable as possible. The big trout are very easily frightened and we therefore encourage carefulness
during the fishing.
Grövelsjön
North of Idre, approx. 1,5 hours from Nordic Footprints.
Grövelsjön is a very large lake where you can fish for trout and char. In
the creaks and streams leading to the lake you can also catch grayling. Possible
to rent a boat.
Särnasjön/österdalälven
In Särna, approx. 20 minutes north of Nordic Footprints.
Just next to the village of Särna you can fish for trout, grayling, char,
pike and perch.
Fjätälven
North east of Särna, 30 minutes north of Nordic Footprints.
Fjätälven is known for the nice grayling and trout fishing. The river is
easily accessed with car.
