How do I book a hunting trip with you?
1. Decide on your trip & date.
Contact us to confirm availability of the date you would like to book.
2. Send your deposit.
A 20% deposit of the total fee (excl. animal fees) is required within one
week of making a reservation.
3. We send you a pre-trip packet.
This packet will include:
- A confirmation of your reservation
- Information and details of the trip
- A letter of invitation
- A suggested equipment list
4. Arrange your travel arrangements
You need to arrange your transport to and from your home.
Please inform us about
your arrival and departure times so we can arrange transfer
(if included).
5. Your final payment.
The balance of the trip cost is to be paid 2 weeks before arrival.
Cancellation Policy
If a booking is cancelled by the clients, there will be no return of the deposit
unless all parties agree to any changes. We will make every effort to allow
you to change dates to another opening for the same package. We will also try
to allow you to switch to some other suitable package, open on a date you can go, or even
allow you to transfer your deposit to another client to take your place, but
if nothing can be arranged, you will lose your deposit.
Non-performance
We reserve the right to cancel for unsafe weather
conditions or circumstances beyond our control. If we choose to cancel a
trip, we will give a full refund.

What is included in the price?
It differs between the packages, please see each respective package.

Can you take a single person or only groups?
We specialize in small groups, but if you wish, we can arrange a trip for only one person. Just contact us for a price
quotation. Some of our special packages are open for single
persons who together wish to share some of the cost
of the required personnel.

What kind of
food can I expect?
It depends on which package
you have choosen, hunting & fishing (except flyfishing in the mountain) we try
to make 3 meals/a day, often it’s a continental breakfast. Lunch is a easy dish,
while Dinner is often a 2 or 3 dishes.
We try to make
Swedish meals, like Elkknul with potatoes, blackcurrant jelly and mushroom
sauce. But of course we also like to be inspired of the traditional European
kitchen.
For treks we
are more adjustable in our way of food, though we try to avoid eating dryfood.
(If not specially requested from quests) Otherwise 3 meals, and something extra
to dinner.
If you want
anything special to eat, please contact us and we’ll see what we can do.

What do
you mean with "on demand"?
On demand means that the activity does not have a
set starting date but is arranged upon request. When you book a trip on request
you are guaranteed that it is only your group on that trip.
Some of our
activities have set starting date and are open to individuals who together form
a group.

Do you have group discounts?
We can normally come up with a solution that suits us both, just contact us.

How old must you be to order any of your activities?
You must be at
least 18 years old to book any of our activities. If you are not, you can let
someone who is order for you.

Do you customize any package for guests?
If requested, we
will do everything we can to help you.

What do
you mean with "on demand"?

What do I need to be able to hunt with you?
To be able to hunt with us you will need:
- hunting weapon
- hunting certificate
- weapon permit
- European weapon passport (or similar)

What do I need to bring when hunting?
You will need warm clothing suitable for the season, your hunting equipment,
ammunition, your hunting weapon, your hunting certificate, your weapon permit
and other personal belongings you may need. It’s also very important that you
have one pair of boots, well walked in.

Can I bring my own hunting dog?
For bird hunts in Sweden; yes just let us know in advance. Please read the
Regulations about import of dogs to Sweden.
When
hunting in Estonia we only use our own dogs.

Do you guarantee that I will find the animal I want?
Since we work with wild animal we can never guarantee that we will find the
animals. However, if you listen to the advice from our guide you increase your
chances. We have a big animal stock and we take well care of the hunting ground
to keep it this way.

What do I
need to do in order to import my hunting weapon?
We will make all the formalities
providing we get the necessary documents at least 5 weeks before the arrival
date at the Swedish borders: Stockholm-Arlanda by airplane or Gothenburg by car
(ferry from Frederikshavn in Denmark). Other borders
crossings by car only with the original EU weapons passport.
You must leave the country through the same borders.

What is included in the animal fee?
Below you find what is included in the animal fee. We will process them for you and if
time allows you will take them with you when you leave,
otherwise we will send them to you.
Wild boar: Tusks
Roebuck: Horns
Elk: Horns
Small game: Paw or tail
Birds: The whole bird, unprocessed
If nothing else is agreed to, the meat and skin is the property of
Nordic Footprints AB and its partners. If desired we can arrange other forms of trophies if agreed to in advance.

Can I hunt without guide?
No, all the hunting is done with guide.

What sort of weapon, might I need?
For forest bird: shotgun calibre. 12-20
For trophy hunting rifle

What’s the terrain like?
Shifting. From dry pine hills, to old grown forest and moors.

Do you rent or sell
fishing equipment?
For the moment we rent out our equipment, but if wanted to buy, we can arrange a
visit on a fishing specialist.

Can I fish without guide and during the stay change my mind?
Of course you can choose to fish without guide, and then change your mind. But
we can’t guarantee that a guide will be free upon your request.

What is provided by you?
Fishing rods, lures/flies, waders.

What sort of fishing are you doing?
Fly fishing, spin fishing,
in river and in lakes, also from boat.

What sort of fish are we able to catch?
Serveral different species, example: pike, trout, grayling and perch.

What sort of clothes should I bring?
Mostly we recommend to dress after the season, when booking, we always send a
suggestion of clothing and things you will need, besides your personal
belongings.

Is there any special equipment I should bring myself?
Most equipment you can lend or rent from us, except of clothing and boots, which
you must bring yourself. They should be well walked in, which means that you
should have walked with them at least for a month, every day.

Can I buy a trek from you and go without guide?
We do not recommend people to go on treks without guide, on those areas we work
in.

Do you sell any equipment?
For the moment no.

Can I take my dog with me?
Yes, on special treks that are “dog friendly”. We have a trek that would suite
you and your dog. These walks demand very much from the dog.

How heavy is the backpack when I need to carry it myself?
It’s all up to you; some
things are a must to bring on the trek:
Adults (Young people from age 15) carry from 15 – 25 kg, while children (5 –
15years) can carry from 2 – 13 kg.
Each person
feels their own limit once the backpack lies on your shoulders.

Can you customize a trek for me in another country than
Sweden?
We are a company that have most of our trekking in Sweden, since our guides have
most experience from these mountains.
But in the near future we hope to serve treks around Scandinavia. Upon request,
we will try to answer as soon as possible.

Do I have to share tent with someone I don’t know?
For the moment we have tents which you can sleep 2 - 4 persons in. We don’t
recommend anyone to sleep alone. When booking, we should see to that your wishes
for sleeping, should be solved.
