The
trophy hunt is for the hunter who wishes to hunt for a great trophy
since it is during
this time of
the
year
the birds have developed a fully grown coat of feathers, and they
are truly magnificent, perfect for the taxidermist.
When the snow falls we leave the dogs at home and take skis and
winter camouflage with us. We ski slowly through the winter
landscape and look in the trees for the birds. The shooting distance
during this type of hunt is between 100-200 meters and the
recommended caliber is 222 Rem-6,5x55.
Since the days are short during the fall and winter we hunt from
sunrise to sunset and have lunch in the forest.
When trophy hunting with skis you also have the opportunity to ad a
day or of trophy hunting from dog sleds.
As
our guest you will sit comfortable and warm in the sled and just
enjoying and experience the magnificent winter landscape. When you
locate one or more birds you and your guide will leave the dogs and
move quietly to the perfect place to make the shot.
If you want to try to drive the dog sled yourself, your guide will
be happy to show you how.
Season: End of November
- Jan 31st
If there is not enough snow we will instead use the Finnspitz
(barking bird dog).
